Curriculum

In the Year 3 at Harold Wood Primary School, students transition into the first year of Key Stage 2, marking an important milestone in their educational journey. With a focus on building upon foundational skills established in Key Stage 1, Year 3 encourages children to become more independent learners. Through a diverse range of subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, and Art, students are encouraged to explore and engage with learning in a more self-directed manner. They develop critical thinking skills, problem-solving abilities, and a deeper understanding of the world around them. With an emphasis on fostering independence, Year 3 sets the stage for students to take greater ownership of their learning and explore their interests with curiosity and enthusiasm.
